Lasch History

The Lasch Company had a very modest beginning. In 1945 Helli Lasch, the founder started manufacturing a whole range of equipment, including pumps and gearboxes, on a tiny site in Germiston. It was only later that they started manufacturing the products that have made Lasch famous – the electric overhead traveling crane and hoist.

In 1986 Charles Charl Stanz, owner of CS Engineering acquired the right to manufacture all hoist spare parts for Lasch. And 3 years later the sole rights to manufacture the H- and C- Hoist. More than 3 decades later, CS Engineering, now Stanz Engineering (Pty) Ltd is still the trusted manufacturer of all Lasch hoist spares

Despite adverse competition and tiring economic conditions, Stanz Engineering has grown from strength to strength under the management of the son and grandson, owners of Stanz Engineering (Pty) Ltd, Willie and Carel Stanz. Relaunching the H- and C- Hoist in 2023.

You will find our products in most factories, mines, and workshops. We are always ready, willing, and able to supply South Africa with the best technology in Cranes and Hoist.

COMPANY PHILOSOPHIES

Our Technical Philosophy

The South African industry is becoming more and more reliant on mechanical equipment. Therefore, the emphasis from a manufacturing point of view is on toughness, reliability, availability, and ease of maintenance. This is where we score. Our cranes and hoists are designed and manufactured specifically for the tough South African industrial and mining environment.

As a result, we have consistently been innovators. For example, the Lasch hoist block, designed and manufactured by ourselves, was a major breakthrough in our field in South Africa.
